Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri was an Indian actress, who gained recognition for her performance in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. She first began her career as an actress in the late 1980s. The actress became popular for the movie Tezaab with an established actor Anil Kooor. Then she appeared in the film Dil In which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dancing at a young age. When she was young when she began to act, she was not successful as a lot of her movies were unsuccessful. She eventually became one of the top actresses from Indian film. She decided to take a break from her career following her marriage before returning to the world of entertainment. In recent times, she was an integral part of Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit has been nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these, she has won 8. Padma Shri - the fourth most prestigious civilian award of India awarded to Dixit. Also, she has earned a name for her social activism.
